Throughout 2022 we provided a large variety of dry hire orders to schools and universities across the region for their events. Within these events we see a real diversity in the application of our equipment. From theatrical productions and photography projects, to dance and fashion shows. A particular dance show lighting hire highlight for us to see the impressive uses of our equipment was The Arts University Bournemouth. Performance and design students came together at Pavilion Dance South West, Bournemouth to showcase their original piece of contemporary dance.

Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the original piece performed by second year BA (Hons) students explores the life and work of the infamous late fashion designer. Delving into the themes of his collections, personal tragedy, controversies, and the legacy he left behind.

For their production they hired a variety of lighting fixtures as well as a haze machine. Lighting designer Sam Barrett utilised the equipment to create the stunning scenes for AUB’s performances. We are delighted to share with you the ways in which they used the fixtures and the designs they created. Fixture hire included LED Colorsource Spots with both the 50 and 70 degree lenses, LED Pinspot banks, Par 64 ACLS 4 way bars and a Unique 2.1 hazer machine. As well as lighting, we also supplied staging decks and hand rails to serve as raised audience seating.
